Rochus has many years of experience in software and systems engineering, interdisciplinary analysis, system design and architecture, embedded systems, process re-engineering, project and quality management, documentation and training. He is working as an engineering and management consultant, interim manager and software and embedded system developer.
Rochus has studied electrical engineering and information technology (with specialization in digital design and computer engineering) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH Zürich). He received an academic degree as Diplom-Ingenieur (MSc) in 1991. His master thesis about a “Real-time Expert System for Simulation of the Piano Accompaniment in a Jazz Band” with Prof. H. Baggenstoss and Denis L. Baggi was honored with a best mark. He received continuing education in business management (ETH BWI 1992-1993) and law (Universität Zürich, 1998-2000). In the course of his academic education he studied compiler construction with Prof. Niklaus Wirth and object-oriented software construction with Prof. Bertrand Meyer. From 2000 to 2005 Rochus conducted the Ph.D. project “Optimizing the Process of Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrum Analysis and Computer Aided Resonance Assignment” at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Biophysics at ETH Zurich with Prof. Dr. Kurt Wüthrich (Nobel Price 2002 for chemistry).
